Biography
Mariella de Boer (b. 1968, Netherlands) is a contemporary artist based in Norway. Her work features dreamy, playful compositions in soft pastels that occasionally explode into vibrant hues, reflecting a rich tapestry of cultural influences from her diverse global experiences.
With a hands-on approach across various mediums, Mariella creates both functional art—like mosaic tables adorned with floral designs made from discarded materials—and expressive paintings, including her engaging series "The Beach Boys."
Inspired by her mother, who, despite facing challenges with bipolar disorder, consistently encouraged her to embrace creativity, Mariella worked through her own creative blocks from childhood. Since 2020, she started developing herself as an artist, through self teaching and enrolling in art courses, uncovering her unique style.
Her personal background and her former studies in Social Sciences enrich her work, inviting viewers to connect deeply while resonating with hope and light.
